Naturally Vitamins’ donation to MAP International includes essential vitamins and minerals in short supply such as a multi-mineral formula, vitamin supplements, calcium/magnesium blend and cod liver oil. MAP International will distribute the large supply of nutraceuticals through its network of partner agencies serving over 25 million people in impoverished countries worldwide. Naturally Vitamins has worked with MAP International for several years to improve public health in areas of the world in need of charitable support. "Even though natural disasters increase public and corporate participation in charitable programs, natural vitamins recognizes the need for continued humanitarian aid," said Naturally Vitamins CEO, Joe Lehmann. MAP International CEO Michael J. Nyenhuis adds that the need for nutraceuticals continues to grow particularly in places where there is little or no access to health and medical supplies and services. "These supplies will help bring essential vitamins and food intolerance where they are greatly needed by expecting mothers and children," Nyenhuis said. Heart disease kills half a million American women each year, according to the American Heart Association – more than the next seven causes of death combined. Women are 15% more likely than men to die of a heart attack. And they are twice as likely to have a second heart attack in the six years following the first. Since The American Heart Association released its new guidelines for heart disease management, women and their doctors have even more incentive to stay informed.
