It is mainly by the details of the floral structure and the arrangement of flowers on the stem that botanists classify plants. When a species grows in different climatic and soil conditions, the leaves and stem can differ but the arrangement of the flower parts remains constant, even if their size and color vary. For example, the Boraginaea family have five patrolled flowers which are often blue like borage and Roget – me-not; the Cruciferea family have flowers with four equal petals; like mustard and rocket; and the Labiatae includes two-lipped flowers, which are often aromatic and favored by bees, such as lavender, thyme and sage.
