Any small creature or animal with three pairs of legs and three separate body parts is known as an insect. Insects usually have wings. A small invertebrate segmented animal, arthropod if class is called on insect. Insects have a head, thorax, abdomen, two pairs of thoracic wings. Insect powder or insecticide is a substance for killing or driving away insects. The in sectary is a place for keeping insects. The insect logy is a science of insects especially in their economic relation to man. Insectivore means a mammal of order insectivore feeding on insect’s etc (e.g.) hedgehog and mole. It is said also of plants that capture and absorb insects. We can see them in our house and also in the garden.

Ant, housefly, mosquito, bed –bug, cockroach, dragonfly, lady bird, louse, wasp are some of the insects that are common. Moth, butterfly, silk worm, grasshopper, gnat, cricket are also insects. Some are harmful to mankind and a few are useful.
