Calcium Essential for bone/teeth and maintains bone density & strength. Helps regulate heart-beat, muscle contractions, nerve function, and blood clotting. May help prevent hypertension. Adequate calcium help prevent or minimize osteoporosis. Vitamin D and Lactose help improve calcium absorption. Oxalic acid found in spinach may reduce calcium absorption. Too much of it causes kidney damage, constipation, nausea, excessive thirst, abdominal pain and general confusion.
