This daemon-dilution, which takes some hours to develop, is reflected by a fall in the hemoglobin level and red cell count. Hence, immediately after a hemorrhage of for example, I liter in a previously normal person, the blood count will show normal figures e.g.. hemoglobin 14.6g per 100 ml., r.b.c 5,000,000 MCH 29 but when dilution has occurred the figures may have fallen to hemoglobin 80 per cent. 11.7 per 100 ml. r.b.c 4000,000 per c. mm. MCH 29 when the circulating blood volume is partially restored, the acute symptoms of shock subside.
