Treating iron deficiency anemia caused by an iron poor diet is pretty straightforward. To restore your blood to normal iron status and replenish your body storage health iron the usual prescription is to take two or three pills daily, each containing 60 milligrams of iron sulfate or iron glaciate. Your red cell count should return to normal in about two months, and you’ll probably be advised to continue taking iron supplements for at least four months after your red cell count is restored.
