Health Tips - How many Calories do us Really Need?

How many calories per day does an ordinary person need? In India, the norm is supposed to be 2400 calories in rural areas and 2200 in urban areas. The official poverty line is linked to rural and urban incomes corresponding to this level of health calorie intake in 1973. According to official thinking if you consume less than this level of calories, you are suffering from malnutrition.

I think it is high time we challenge these norms and come up with better ones. We tend to take for granted whatever we are told by nutritionists.
