A daily supplement containing 5 mg of foliate is the usual prescription for treating foliate deficiency due to poor diet. This strategy should clear up your anemia within several weeks. However, since the health body contains only a four-month storage supply of foliate in the best of circumstances, the way to ensure that you don’t become foliate-deficient again is to change your eating habits.
