In the area of rehabilitation of heart-attack victims, exercise plays an important part. A significant survey in a rehabilitation center in Toronto has proved that heart patients who exercise regularly are much less prone to get recurrent heart attacks than the ones who do not exercise. In fact, people with heart attacks who job regularly have even gone in for running marathons: this just proves how far heart patients can go with regular exercise, under a doctor’s guidance, of course. It is estimated that the incidence of heart disease has been reduced by 30 per cent in the U.S.A. over the past two years. Medical experts are of the opinion that over 50 per cent of this reduction is due to systematic vigorous exercise by a large section of the U.S.A. population.
