Cholesterol and triglyceride fat derivatives which are synthesized in the body have a sinister association with atherosclerosis; so one should be very careful about eating foods which have high quantities of carbohydrates and fats. Fat people tend to have high blood cholesterol but others who are thin may also have high cholesterol levels. So it may by advisable to have a cholesterol and triglyceride check. It is easy to bring down one’s cholesterol and triglyceride level by sensible dieting. Remember a stitch in time saves nine. A study completed by the New York Coronary Club showed that people on a diet low in saturated fats, have just about one-third of the incidence of coronary attacks compared to people who eat normal saturated fats. One’s doctor may suggest that one should take medicine rather than confirm to a rigid diet to reduce one’s blood cholesterol or perhaps both. Someone with a tendency towards high cholesterol or triglyceride may have to take medication for most of his life.
