Nutrition advocacy, sanitation, capacity building and awareness generation, especially at the grass root level. Preventing onset of malnutrition among 0-2 year old children by promoting complementary feeding of infants at six months, using home based foods. Preventing low birth weight of the new home and breaking the inter-generational cycle of malnutrition by addressing the nutritional needs of the girl child, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women. Preventing caloric and micro-nutrient malnutrition by promoting community based production of low cost nutrition foods and consumption of fruits and vegetables. Involvement of women’s groups is in advocating and practicing proper nutritional practices. People are quite unaware of the nutritive value of fruits and vegetable and always opt for conventional source to tackle the malnutrition problems. But fruits and their juices and other preparations available in the market do not let any child/adult to fall victim of deficiency diseases, if eaten regularly.
